W7 in the night palette

W7 palette

W7 Cosmetics In The Night Smokey Shades Eye Colour Palette ~ £9.99

As you can see, I’m enjoying the loose pigment eye shadows at the moment: the Urban Decay Smog, which is a mineral based bronze shimmer shade, is my current favourite. The colour after application is exactly as it appears on the brush, and I love this applicator. This shade looks amazing all over the eye on its own or blended with other colours, perfect for a sheer wash of colour or layered up for a stronger look. The L’oreal monos are also loose powder and the Max Factor and W7 are compressed powder. Couldn’t help but throw in a palette too and this one hosts a variety of blendable shades.
I’ve been raving about felt tip eyeliners lately and they are brilliant for accuracy, but I still love a pencil liner too, so I picked up these two. Love the shape of the Hard Candy liners, the elongated pencil makes them really comfortable to hold and easy to control.

Max Factor skin coverage

Max Factor Lasting Performance Long Lasting Make Up Soft Beige ~ £13.99

Max Factor Panstik True Beige ~ £7.50

Olay BB cream

Estee Lauder face cream

Olay Essentials BB Cream Touch of Foundation 50ml Medium Complete Care ~ £9.99

Estee Lauder Advanced Time Zone Age Reversing Wrinkle Cream  ~50 ml £57

I’m almost at the end of my foundation and decided to try something new having been dedicated to Rimmel London Lasting Finish foundation for the last 6 months. Max Factor isn’t a makeup brand I use often, but not for any particular reason and many of my friends love this Lasting Performance foundation, so I decided to pick one up in my colour. I also picked up the Pan Stik (not something I’d heard of before). The Pan Stiks are intended for maximum coverage, again not something I usually go for as I prefer a light feeling and natural looking foundation. I love it. These feel so light and moisturising, I find many thick foundations and concealers can feel heavy on your skin. This doesn’t. I’ve still been experiencing irritating blemishes on my chin lately and this covers that in seconds and last the whole day. Both products blend perfectly together and, as they claim, have lasting performance. Happy with this one.
I decided to invest in a BB cream, my sister swears by BB creams and never wears foundation anymore (having used Mac foundation for most of her adult life). This combines UV protection and a lasting moisturiser with sheer coverage. Perfect for summer when you want to hide minor imperfections with something lightweight and hydrating.
One of my New Year’s resolutions was to up my skincare game and take better care of my skin. I love this Estee Lauder cream, I’ve been using it for about a week now, and have noticed a huge difference in the condition of my under eyes (as you will know I get terrible dark circles) and my skin feels generally better hydrated. It’s not the cheapest but it is worth is, and in no way the most expensive.

Lips gloss sping shades

Lips Gloss

Elizabeth Arden High Shine Lip Gloss  Golden Pink ~ £16

Maybelline Color Sensational Cream Gloss Coral Blush ~ £6.99

UNE Beauty Natural Beauty Sheer Lip Gloss ~ £5.99

All through Autumn and Winter I’ve been wearing intense matt lip shades, reds, plums and oranges, but as we move into Spring and towards the Summer months makeup, for me, becomes lighter and less intense. I definitely wear more neutral shades, especially on my lips and I prefer a glossy finish. I picked up these lip glosses and have to say that the Maybelline Colour Sensation has been a daily favourite. There’s something about a nude or pink gloss that looks effortless and nourishing. I’m a little bit converted.
